reading: For once I'm not in the middle of reading. Being married has changed that desire to read for now. And I'm okay with that.

loving: Getting settled into my new life...finding a new rhythm in the everyday. Discovering new things about life, marriage and my husband each day. Each day is a treasure and a new experience.

food: Nothing in particular but I absolutely love getting to make meals each day for my husband.  Cooking for someone else makes being in the kitchen such a joy.

excited about: The first day of summer...I always get so excited with the arrival of a new season.

inspiration: Fresh flowers. I really can't get enough of them in my house.

Summer evening runs. It's been cooling off a bit in the evening and it's perfect for getting outside and breaking a sweat!

Nieces and nephews here for the week. Their sweet giggles and hugs are enough to make anyone happy!

Fresh basil. So so good. my favorite is fresh basil with noodles, cherry tomatoes and Parmesan cheese. The perfect lunch.

Staying up till the wee hours of the morning with a good book. Something about reading when the house is perfectly quiet - makes the book so much better.

it's amost time to party!

Lotsa party planning and party making going on right now. Getting ready to throw a big graduation party for my sweet niece next week! A big milestone like this requires extra special  celebrating and extra special decorations...don'tchya think?!  I'm soooo excited about it! It's been a ton of fun to plan and get ready for...and I know the actual celebration will totally top it off!  Till then, I'm soaking all the orange and pink goodness, and crafting to my hearts content!

pretty packages

Played around yesterday with my camera and a few little pretty packages!! ( think little packages are the funnest to wrap!) Oh, and there are so many pretty things around Christmas time to take photos of!

These pictures remind me of the song "My Favorite Things"...you know, brown paper packages tied up with string...!! "

Annnnnnd.......today is the FIRST day of winter!! my very favorite season of the year has arrived! And it snowed for a little bit today - not enough to stick but it snowed!!! It would be simply incredible and amazing if it would snow on Christmas!!

white christmas

I love the color white so much for christmas...I love how some people decorate their entire homes for christmas with just using shades of white....it's so clean and pretty and you could even leave it all up longer -white goes perfectly with winter! I know I've been thinking of maybe doing my room up all in white in January...idk, it always seems so gloomy after we take all the christmas decorations, so maybe changing it up to some white would add some cheer!

I seriously love Anthropologies style for Christmas...love the crisp whiteness with neutrals....I love how they are so simple, yet make a huge statement. Especially love the glass trees...oh so pretty!

Snow globes are something I'm really into this Christmas.... and Anthro just uses mason jars for these...how simple is that? This would be the perfect diy for Christmas..I'm really going to try this.

*sigh* so much christmas goodness everywhere! I can't take it all in!

Oh, I've been a really bad blogger of late...the business of the summer and school starting has taken over my time. I can't believe summer is about over...where did it go to?! And it's been the loveliest of summers too... so many new things, new places to see, goals accomplished, memories made. 'Tis been lovely. I'm enjoying every last minutes of it, while at the same time anticipating fall!!
I just love that seasons change.
