winter

Almost 2 months since my last post...life has a way of happening. Life has surprises. Life has changes.

This winter has been one of those. But it's been a lovely winter. One of my favorite things has been all the snow falls and cold temperatures. Snow has always been a favorite of mine and living where you don't get much snow isn't  much fun...so grateful and happy I was able to enjoy it this year. Something about snow makes me so happy and excited. 

I love the freshness and of beauty of it.

I love how still everything becomes. 

I love how it slows the world down. So grateful for seasons!

Ice storm for the first day of winter - almost as good as snow, but not quite! Loving how still and quite everything gets and it makes the world look so pretty!
Grateful to be all cozy and warm inside today.

leaving january

One of those days I can't get anything accomplished off my long to-do list...so many distracting things, phone calls, thoughts....seems impossible on days like this that I'll ever get anywhere! And of course, being on here wasn't in my priorities today, but who cares!

I'm so excited January is almost over. usually I don't want it to end because it is one of my favorite months, but I want it to be over because that means it will be one month closer to spring, and closer to getting married!  All the sudden time seems to crawl and I can't stand it!  Was looking through my phone pictures this morning from this past month...lots of favorite pictures...lots of special memories made. It was a good month, but I'm so ready for February!

Now about getting something done yet today.....Happy Monday ♥  

wishing for winter

Wishing for cold weather and some snow sooo very much. That's one of my favorite things about Christmas and winter and it doesn't seem right without either of them.  I want to wear sweaters, and have to bundle up all warm to be able to go outside...I want to curl up inside and snuggle with some tea and watch the snowflakes come down. 

I guess until that happens, I'll have to content myself with thinking about it and looking at pretty pictures like these!!

life is beautiful

Love having this reminder on my bedroom wall...to see it every day and be reminded that life is special....that through all the unpleasantness and stings, there is still something to be grateful for...still something that is beautiful.

Inspired to do this after seeing this lovely inspiration and tutorial from Pencil Box. I couldn't wait to do it after seeing hers! I used all silver glitter for my letters...wanted it to go more along with a winter theme oh! and it was so fun gluing all that glitter on! I'd make one again just to do that!

And I finally glittered a little cardboard house all up! Saw so many cute ones online, and I must admit, I wasn't too creative with mine, but I think I like that it's simple. It makes me smile when i see it!

inspiration right now

reading: Tailor-Made Bride by Karen Witemeyer - only 2 chapters into the book, but it looks promising! Don't normally read this style of book, but it's nice to read something light for a change.

listening: Falling and Flying by Mindy Gledhill. Such a pretty tune!

loving: bling. glitter. sequins. anything that is all glittery and sparkly! ( my new favorite accessory being the cutest pair of sparkly toms my sweet friends gave me!)

food: cheez-itz. (don't laugh! a person's gotta indulge in not-so-good-for-you food once in a while!) but yeah, they taste to yummy.

excited about: the fact that we're in a new year now, and excited for the new opportunities it's bringing.

inspiration: the friendships in my life right now.

color: white. so clean, so fresh, so exciting!



oh and I totally should have posted my last post sooner....because as soon as I did, what do we get but snow!! oh oh oh!

Hello February.

Today when I look out my window, this is what I see!! Isn't it beauutiful?!!! We're in the middle of a blizzard and oh is it so pretty! You can't even see down the street, and drifts are 3+feet high. Around here we hardly ever get much snow, if any at all so this is so fun! I'm dying to go out in it, but the wind is SO cold!

Sis, this picture is for you! I braved the cold for a few minutes to snap some pictures!

The snow/ice left pretty little patterns on the window! They're so intricate and beautiful! Only the Creator could do that!

Inside it's oh so cozy! I am working on a scrapbook project ( well, between looking out the window every 10 minutes!) and thinking about some Valentine projects I want to do. Thinking about making myself a cup of tea too. that sounds pretty good.

Am listening to this song today - it is so pretty!!

What are you doing today? From what I hear, quite a few places are getting hit with this storm...so I hope you are having a warm cozy day where ever you are!♥

a lovely winters day

Remember this post here? I was wishing I could go ice skating? well yesterday I had to opportunity to go for the first time ( yes, you read that right..for the first time!) and oh was it ever so lovely! It was simply magical! It was out in the woods on an old strip pit...surrounded by woods and snow. It was picture perfect!!

yes, I know I look very wobbly on skates...by the time we finished I was finally getting the hang of it, but it took quite a few un-graceful falls at first!

this is one of my favorite photos from the afternoon!

There's just something so beautiful about ice skating...gliding along, feeling the cold breeze on your face, hearing the laughter from all the others....oh it was such a happy time!

Isn't this photo simply beautiful? I wish everyone of you could have been there to see it..pictures just don't quite do it justice. I can't wait to go again sometime!
