My Heroes

These four people are part of my family. They are my heroes. They have served our country. I love these people so much and am forever grateful for their sacrifice for their country and their family.

Thomas W. Dougherty (1896-1970)

Thomas was my great-grandfather. He enlisted into the army in 1918. After he completed his calvary training, he was shipped overseas to France just a couple weeks before the war was over.

Paul Dougherty

Grandpa was drafted into the service in 1942. After Basic Training, he went to Airplane Mechanic school and was put to work on P-39 planes. After graduating he was sent to Advanced Training school in California for pilots flying the P-39's and larger planes. He was stationed there from 1942-1946

Ralph Gillham (1894-1981)

Great-Grandpa Ralph was trained at Camp Clark in Nevada, Missouri. He was a bugler, stationed in Klackamus Washington. Due to health issues, he was never deployed.
