loving fall so much

Loving fall so much. Loving this beauuutiful weather. Loving the changing trees. Can it stay this way forever please?

Arrived back home from my lovely 2-week vacation yesterday. Oh it was so nice to not have any pressing work for two whole weeks, and to sleep in every day! Not to excited about the part of getting back into the groove of things though...I'd rather go lay outside under a tree and read a good book. One not so fun thing about vacations is that they must come to an end. oh well.

Some of the things on my fall want-to-do- list already-
-Make Caramel Apple Sundaes ( found in the October issue of Martha Stewart)
-Have a fall picnic ( anyone want to join?)
-Make something along the lines of this fall garland
-Do a photo shoot with sis in a apple orchard
( and maybe pick some apples too?)
-Try some of these pumpkin recipes - especially the pumpkin butter. mmmm.

What are some things you have planned for fall?

Here's to a lovely weekend!

goodbye to summer

This week is the last week of summer - sadness and happiness both. This summer held some pretty special memories and new adventures that I'll remember forever! These are some of the few things I'm going to miss...

But of course, fall will hold it's own one-of-a-kind special things. And then I'll think, they are waaaay better than summer! SO grateful for the change of seasons. Tomorrow I'm leaving for a little two-week trip. I'm pretty excited..of course I always get excited when I get a chance to travel! And speaking of, I'd better get a-packing!

a new way to eat a peach

Due to an abundance of peaches, we've been digging for some new peach recipes to try. even though those peaches are simply delicious, a person can only eat so many peach smoothies and fresh peaches in a day! Found this recipe in a recipe book by Robin Miller. Sis changed ours up a bit and came out with this dessert that is to die for. It will certainly be added to my recipe collection ( have I ever showed you my little recipe project? hmm. might have to save that for anther post sometime.)

Anyway, didn't think you'd mind me sharing the recipe. It was the perfect addition to our meal yesterday - that we enjoyed outside as well. Goodness! This weather can't get any better!

Grilled Peaches
2 TBL agave syrup ( or maple syrup)

1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
2 peaches cut in half and pitted
ice cream

In a small bowl whisk together the maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon. Place the peach halves, flesh side up, on the grill. Brush maple syrup mixture over the flesh and grill until golden brown, about 5 minutes. We flipped ours over and grilled the top side as well. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. oh so heavenly.

Happy Monday, lovelies! -xxx
